100 years Bipperlisi

The Solothurn-Niederbipp railway, fondly referred to by locals as “Bipperlisi”, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The rail line between Solothurn and Niederbipp was inaugurated on January 9, 1918, and today is operated by Aare Seeland mobil. In December 2012, the line was extended to Oensingen, adding a further interface to the pan-regional railway network. The trains travel from Solothurn via Oensingen to Langenthal, transporting thousands of passengers every day.

Lantal joins Aare Seeland mobil in saluting the Bipperlisi success story and congratulates the operator on the centennial. The partnership between the two companies dates back several decades. Lantal has been outfitting the coaches of the railway with fabrics on a regular basis and also develops the respective design concepts.

To celebrate the special anniversary, Aare Seeland mobil is organizing a festive event. On Saturday, April 28, 2018, it will welcome the public at large to the railway station and the playground in Niederbipp. Guests can expect an exciting mix of exhibitions, tours, and attractions.
