OUR STORY

LANTAL is a Swiss-based company established in 1886. Our journey began with the production of cheese linen, showcasing our deep-rooted expertise in textiles. Since 1954, we have specialized in creating aircraft interiors that reflect the airline’s heritage and prioritize passengers’ well-being. Today, we passionately design, develop, and manufacture high-performing and eco-conscious textiles and solutions, serving customers in the transportation markets of aviation, railway, and buses.

2025 | Legacy of Timeless Leadership | Urs Baumann

Urs Baumann, former CEO and owner of LANTAL, paved a unique path in the textile world. By prioritizing quality, sustainability, and especially connections with his team, he transformed LANTAL into a global leader in the transportation industry. His humble way of treating people, his passion for innovation and his unique mindset was essential for LANTAL for many decades. With the age of 85, he has written a book and shares key learnings.

2025 | MILAN DESIGN WEEK

MOIRA is the result of close collaboration between Swisswool, Claudia Caviezel, Lantal, and Valais mountain farmers—embodying the House of Switzerland Milano’s 2025 theme: Collaboration. “This collection demonstrates the creative and technological potential of Swiss wool,” says Friedrich Baur, founder of Swisswool. “We’re bringing a heritage material into a contemporary design dialogue.”

This unique collection is showcased at MILAN DESIGN WEEK.
